Preparing holdings for a portfolio sector review
An anonymised weight table with stable sector tags is enough — perfection is not required, but missing sleeves waste the overlay.
A Portfolio Sector Review fails quietly when the holdings file omits a sleeve the committee still manages. The overlay then answers a partial question.
Minimum useful package
- Weights by sector for each sleeve in scope
- Cash treated explicitly (ignored or shown)
- Constraints that matter: liquidity floors, ESG exclusions, single-name caps
Names can be masked. Sector tags cannot be vague. If two people on your side disagree on a tag, settle it before you send the file.
Timing
Send the package before we lock the analysis window. Late additions after drafting create version confusion in the room — something we now flag in intake after a Bangkok committee asked us to revise three days before they met.
